We love reminiscing on the good ol’ days when everything was simpler. Ready for your weekly dose of nostalgia? It’s safe to say the majority of us have memories of this TV-show-turned-movie from our childhoods. Whether watching it before heading to bed on a school night or having the theme song stuck in your head for countless hours, this title has endured the generations and hopefully will not soon be forgotten. This is none other than the gothic franchise revolving around a family that is far from the “typical American”- The Addams Family!
Although the short-lived TV series took place in the ’60s, they did not create a movie adaptation until 1991. Starring Anjelica Huston as Morticia, Raul Julia as Gomez, and Christina Ricci as Wednesday, we watched the abnormal, cryptic family hilariously endure encounter after encounter with other, more proper, less creepy people. Yet, some of them aren’t as proper as they seem. Uncle Fester had gone missing, unseen or heard from in multiple years, and a money-hungry woman, Abigail Craven, decided to use this to her advantage. Having a son that looked nearly exactly like Fester, especially to those who haven’t seen him in 25 years, she dressed her son up as an imposter to infiltrate the Addams family’s home, find their hidden vault, and rob them for all they’re worth. But one should know better than to mess with the zany Addams family!
In tribute to The Addams Family, beautiful cosplayer Eve Beauregard created this costume of the lovely lady of the Addams manor, Morticia. With long black hair, lace-embroidered black dress, and black lipstick, Eve definitely carries the gothic feel that Morticia does. The added touch of the black and white filter to the photograph adds an extra sense of mystery and really reminds us of the 60’s black-and-white TV series. Now, is that theme song stuck in your head yet?
